In previous blog posts, I have discussed different aspects of lifestyle photography including perspectives, displaying images, and location. Context is another aspect of lifestyle photography that makes it meaningful.
Baby Lila wasn't born in a studio. She was born into a family with three siblings, two loving parents and a dog named Maggie. To understand Lila's story, it's important to photograph her in the context of her environment.
I used a slower shutter here to illustrate the motion around baby Lila because when you are baby number four, life is anything but quiet. With mom and Lila in focus and the environment around them blurred, the mood takes shape.
Lila has a mom and dad who adore her...
And two big sisters who love her from head to toe...
Along with a silly big brother who will undoubtedly entertain her...
The three big siblings will always be a big part of Lila's life...
And one thing is for sure, life is going to be much more FUN with them around
And as much FUN as they will have together...
She will need her beauty rest so she can keep up...
with all the beautiful, messy, and meaningful parts of this thing we call life.
Capturing the environmental context is the cornerstone of lifestyle photography. It's about embracing the imperfect, authentic, and messy moments.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and welcome to the world, Lila.
